SIA licence renewal changes and SIA Top-up Training in Middlesbrough
The SIA have introduced new requirements to ensure Security Officers and Door Supervisors have the skills to further protect the community in which they operate. The main change is the introduction of the requirement for all SIA licence holders to have an Emergency First Aid certificate. This additional qualification equips Security Officers and Door Supervisors with the required skills to manage potentially life threatening injuries while they wait for help to arrive, which ultimately could save a life.
During the SIA top-up training in Middlesbrough, the Emergency First Aid training we see you cover content on how to deal with emergency situations and injuries which include:
- Adult resuscitation (CPR)
- Burns and scalds
- Choking adult
- Communication and casualty care
- Defibrillator prompts and how to respond (theory based)
- Defibrillator pad placement (theory based)
- Minor and severe bleeding
- Role of the first aider (including knowledge of health and safety regulations)
- Unresponsive adult
The Emergency First Aid at Work Training Course is assessed by the class participation. Your training provider will observe your understanding of the course material. You simply have to pay attention and participate. You will be provided with all the support necessary in order to pass. Once you obtain your Emergency First Aid qualification, it lasts for 3 years before needing renewal.
