Course updates

As part of a recent regulatory changes, we are no longer offering SIA Top Up courses. These have been discontinued by the SIA and now replaced with Refresher courses,  which are designed to ensure current licence holders remain up to date with essential industry knowledge and mandatory content.

These refresher courses cover key areas such as counter-terrorism awareness, physical intervention updates and the latest legislation to the role. They are a requirement for those renewing their SIA licence and are essential for maintaining professional standards and compliance.

We encorage licence holders to check their renewal dates and ensure they’re booked onto the appopriate Refresher in good time. It’s worth remembering, licences can be renewed up to 3 months before the expiry date.

Industry insights

The security and safety sector continues to evolve. This month, we’re closely monitoring changes to SIA licence integration and new guidance around safeguarding responsibilities, especially for those working in public-facing roles. We’ll be incorporating this into relevant courses as and when needed.
